You Just Dont Get It!
A Word to the Marketing Folks Out There
Today you lost a sale. Who, you say, well it could be any one of you but today's victim was California Innovations.
We were introduced to them and one of their products many years ago when on QVC we saw their Grocery Bag. We thought it was neat, it could keep ice cream from melting for a long time surely longer than our 30 min drive grocery shopping so we bought one. And it works exactly as advertised, even now nearly a decade later its still in use, wonderful product.
Do not buy a Samsung Cell Phone, They do not care about US customers.
Samsung, I have purchased one of your products for the last time. Your level of greed is disgusting to me, to treat the end users of YOUR device so poorly is an abomination. Yes, when they buy a subsidised product from a Telco we are their customer but we are also yours. You develop the platform, you produce the software, and you, are ultimately behind my dissatisfaction. It is your fault in the end. You could release the updates we want and deserve, we put our faith in you providing us with a platform you would provide updates for you and spit in our face.
Schools, Education and the undermining of it by socialist nutjobs.
I was minding my own business surfing the web tonight and came across an article that pissed me off so bad... It was about how our schools suck. Having a daughter who will be in first grade next year and who has attended pre-k and kindergarten at the very same school I gave it a whirl. I have to tell you that after reading this pile of crap I wouldn't line my birdcage with it. So since I like to dispute bullshit here goes.
With all the CFL around how can people be so blind?
It always saddens me to see folks take a personal stance on something that could be more easily treated as factual. Allow me to explain. There has been a huge amount of press over CFLs and the mercury they contain. Lets get a couple facts on the table.
Keeping a mortgage to save on your taxes
If you're like me then you have probably heard the suggestion that you keep a mortgage in your life for the tax write off. In some cases people are even advised to increase their mortgage rather than pay it off to save more. It may sound like good advice, but its NOT. Here is why
A sign of the times, lamers at work on public persons....
Well its not surprising to see this kind of thing unfortunately. The sad part is that people are going to give in to it. Thats not any better than 'feeding the trolls' by arguing with them. Do I think Kathy should prosecute? Absolutely! Terroristic threats are now a felony where in the past some threats were at best ignored by police. What she shouldn't do is quit living. Doing so she is becoming the Boston of the blogosphere, overreacting to a kid with a keyboard much like that city did to some lite-brite like boxes and later even one of their own traffic counters.
Dramatically Screw your Life over to pay us the imagined damages we bribed congress into making into a law!
Spotted this on Digg....RIAA to students: 'drop out of college to pay settlement'
An MIT student accused of copyright infringement has been documenting her struggles with the RIAA. Upon trying to negotiate her settlement, a representative told her "the RIAA has been known to suggest that students drop out of college or go to community college in order to be able to afford settlements." Is this justice or insanity?
BellSouth andAT&T should have to pay content providers
Well looks like techdirt.com has the right idea to me!!!Why Aren't The Telcos Paying Google For Making Their Network Valuable?Over the last few months, we've seen the heads of the remaining telcos talk about how Google and other big internet companies should be paying them extra and how they were getting getting a free lunch.
The New Media Age
TiffanyCartiers was one of the first friends I ever made on StumbleUpon. She has for as long as I have known her, always had one of the best photoblogs on StumbleUpon. Tonight, as I was winding down for the night I wandered over to her blog because I find perusing her photos relaxing. And I find this post saying she is going to have to take her photos down! Reading on I see why.....
A death sentence for shoplifting from Wal-Mart?
'I'm dying, I can't breathe, call an ambulance' were some of the last words from this dying man as he was detained by Wal-Mart employees for shoplifting. Utter insanity to think in this day and age none of the people who allgedly told the Wal-Mart employees to let him up had not the balls to call the police or do something to assist this poor man as he died a death most wouldnt wish on a dog. I hope his poor family gets a good lawyer and sues the hell out of Wal-Mart.
